Santa Barbara Movement Arts is located in a peaceful garden setting the beautiful foothills in Santa Barbara near Goleta. SBMA is the educational program of the Motion Theatre Dance Company, Inc. a non-profit organization dedicated to providing the local and surrounding communities for children, teens, adults and professional dance instruction and performance opportunities for all ages. Come and join us for a creative somatic approach, and give yourself permission to breath and move through space in the most natural way. SB Movement Arts is on the cutting edge of the more holistic approach to Dance, Yoga, Pilates, and other modalities of movement. It is a learning experience that you will never forget!

MotionTheatre Dance Company presents dance repertoire for festivals, site specific events and the concert stage.  Company members and guest artists are encouraged to choreograph on the company and collaborate with composers, directors, and artists from other mediums on various projects. The artists and company members teach classes to foster professionalism in Santa Barbara and the surrounding communities and offer master classes. MTDC provides instruction at Santa Barbara Movement Arts and also presents Art in Education Programs for children and teens in grades K– 12.
